The artisan who created this exquisite lattice altar table must have truly been a master of their craft. Constructed of carefully bent spotted bamboo, the table has a straight, open frame patterned with intricate bamboo latticework. Every available empty space is filled with bamboo lattice in a variety of geometric designs, held in place with thin bamboo strips. The table top features traditional everted flanges at either end and is finished with black lacquer in contrast to the warm coloring of aged bamboo. With its imaginative use of negative space and beautiful patina, this 19th-century altar is an impressive example of Chinese bamboo furniture.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
