Dated to the early 20th century, this petite cabinet beautifully displays the clean lines and perfect proportions of classic Chinese furniture design. The coffer was originally used for general household storage in a woman's quarters, and doubled as an altar for ancestor worship, as evidenced by the flanged top. The cabinet's even, black lacquer finish is punctuated by its original brass hardware, now textured by a dark patina from a century of use. Minimally decorated, this elegant coffer fits into any interior as an entryway console or sofa table.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
