This 19th-century stool from China's Shanxi province charms with its top-heavy form and fantastic texture. As evidenced by the many blade marks on its round top, this robust stool was doubled as a kitchen chopping block. The seat is supported by three splayed legs linked by stretchers that interlock with iron hardware to form a star formation. Darkened with a beautifully weathered finish, this three legged stool is the perfect rustic accent to a modern kitchen or living room.
