This rectangular side table dates to the early 20th century and would have been a versatile surface throughout a Qing-dynasty home, used for serving tea, displaying floral arrangements, and burning incense. The table features a floating-panel top, straight round legs, and two drawers with original brass pull handles. The decorative apron is hand-carved to mimic rounded strips of bamboo wrapped around the table legs. Bamboo was a favored motif in late-Qing furniture, as it expressed humility for past construction methods and upheld Taoist values of naturalism. Whether placed in an entryway or beside your favorite armchair, this simple table is a lovely addition to any interior.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
