This lidded ceramic vessel dates to the early 20th century and was once used to store or serve foods in the kitchen of a Qing-dynasty home, as evidenced by the interior glaze. A light celadon green glaze cloaks the jar's exterior, textured by pitted wear and a subtle crackled pattern. Today, we love this rustic kitchen vessel as a decorative box or tabletop planter.
