It is unusual to find such a fine set of 19th-century Chinese lattice panels hand-carved from walnut. Despite their grand height, the panels feel light and delicate thanks to open latticework designed to allow airflow between rooms. Originally a statement centerpiece within a Qing-dynasty courtyard home, each panel is individually carved with a detailed scene of scholars and attendants. Depicting architecture, gardens, latticework, and courtly life, the finely carved panels are windows into the life and culture of a bygone era.

Dimensions listed describe an individual panel.
