This elegant French armoire dates to the mid- to late-18th century and wonderfully exemplifies the French Provincial and Louis XV styles. The cabinet front is beautifully decorated with cartouche panels framed with beaded edging and interspersed with ornamental carvings of swirling foliage. The cabinet stands on square back legs and short cabriole front legs carved with scroll feet and acanthus leaves. The curved apron is elaborately carved with interlocking floral scrollwork with round cutouts. Beautifully aged with a rich patina and gentle wear, this grand cabinet adds warmth and texture to modern interiors as a bedroom wardrobe or linen press.
