With clean lines and a light, open frame, this Thonet side chair exemplifies the elegance of bentwood furniture. Patented in the mid-19th century by master joiner Michael Thonet, bentwood furniture design is the innovative process of bending laminated wood to create fluid contoured forms. Constructed by Thonet in the mid-20th century, this black bentwood chair is designed with gorgeous curved arm rails that link to a round cane seat set on four gently flared legs.

“Over the years, I’ve incorporated many pieces from PAGODA RED into my designs. Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
