Bruno A. Surdo
b. 1963
Chicago-based fine art painter Bruno Surdo is classically trained in drawing and painting in the tradition of Renaissance masters. Applying his mastery of figurative realism to the natural world, Surdo takes us on a foray into the forest, where leaves, branches and burls express something deeply personal.
Tree Spirits
In this never-before-seen series, fine art painter Bruno Surdo departs with the figure and embarks on an exploration of form. Depicting trees that "speak” to the artist, each work reflects Surdo’s personal journey to uncover the intangible spirit within each tree.
Surdo’s trees communicate a unique sensation of emotion and draw you in to linger on their unspoken language. Placed in conversation with each other, his forest of trees begins to speak and invites us to understand.
