This gorgeous red lacquer coffer beautifully represents the distinctive cabinetry of Tianjin, a port city in northern China. Dated to the mid-19th century, the square-corner cabinet features five drawers and a large lower compartment fitted with an interior shelf. A cinnabar red lacquer finish cloaks the exterior with vibrant color and well-worn texture. The flat cabinet front is adorned with its original brass hardware, including quadrilobe bail pulls on each drawer and a large full moon lock plate securing the doors.
