Basket making is an ancient and humble craft, but in the hands of a skilled weaver a simple willow basket becomes a truly beautiful statement. The artisan’s mastery is evident in this early 20th century bent handle basket: the strong, flexible willow strips are skillfully intertwined into a tight weave, finished by a delicately braided trim. Dark lacquer patches the underside for a watertight seal. Still in remarkable condition, we love this basket as a spot for firewood, wastepaper, or anything you want stored beautifully.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
