In the early 1900s, a group of French artists established a design collective called the Societé des artistes décorateurs, a group which pioneered the Art Deco design movement. Architecture, art, design, fashion, and furniture were all influenced by this movement which swept rapidly across the globe. Characterized by its bold, geometric form and opulent leopard upholstery, these French Deco armchairs are a gorgeous example of French Art Deco of the 1930s. Solid oak frames the arms and seat back of each chair to create a striking, squared silhouette with modern lines. The armchairs have been reupholstered in a lavish fabric woven with leopard print and a recurrent floral motif. These plush armchairs are a pleasure to lounge in and would be a timeless addition to any room.

From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.
