Dated to the early 20th century, this porcelain plate is an unusual example of famille rose enamelware, decorated with painterly pink and blue orchid blossoms. Reminiscent of a celadon glaze, the surrounding light green ground is textured by etched scrollwork. The underside is loosely brushed with swaying grasses in iron red underglaze.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
