This fanciful porcelain trinket box charms with soft color and hand-painted decoration. Drawing on traditions that date back to the 18th century, this compact trinket box is in the style of traditional Limoges porcelain. Limoges porcelain boxes emerged in the mid-18th century and were originally used to store trinkets, cosmetics, tobacco, and pills. This cartouche shaped Limoges style box features a tableau depicting a hot air balloon and gilded sides.
