Dated to the mid-19th century, this rustic wood press is carved with seven unique molds used for shaping festive mooncakes. Packed with lotus root, red bean, or other regional fillings, mooncakes are a delicacy eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival as an offering between friends and family. Each mold included in this set conveys a symbolic meaning - a fish for harmony, a butterfly for happiness, stylized characters for happiness and longevity, and chrysanthemums to celebrate the autumn season. Beautifully aged and full of character, we love this humble kitchen tool as a storied token from the past.
