Hand-crafted from reclaimed wood, this artisanal koi sculpture is a traditional symbol of harmony and luck. For Buddhists, such a fish represents a freedom from all restraints. And because fish are reputed to swim in pairs, two fish paired together become emblem for the joys of union and a harmonious marriage. The fish is sculpted with a squat, rounded body and decorated with colorful pigments in a palette of blue, red and yellow. Set on a custom steel mount, this provincial koi charms with bright color and a beautifully worn texture.

Lucky in Love

Because fish are reputed to swim in pairs, they symbolize the joys of union and a harmonious marriage. When two fish are shown together, they convey the idiom “may you be blessed with marital bliss and an abundance of good luck.”

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
