This provincial pitchfork from China’s Shanxi province was crafted in the 19th century and consists of a single, continuous piece of wood. By controlling its growth as a young plant, the farmer or gardener was able to bend and sculpt a tree naturally into the shape of a pitchfork. The pitchfork has been carved with a long, slender handle and four sharp tines, minimally worked to preserve its organic form and occasional knotted burl. Burnished smooth from years of use, the pitchfork has a rustic charm and is ideal today as a natural accent piece to a garden or farmhouse modern interior.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
